TDCA LV Express Rd 4 Preview

12 Nov 2015 by Greg Munro

A massive round four will enthral Traralgon and District Cricket Association followers this weekend with the top six contenders beginning to crystallise, leaving the bottom five to chase tail for the rest of the year.

Churchill v Ex Students (George Cain Oval)

CHURCHILL is out to continue an impressive start to the year in the match of the day against Ex Students.

The Sharks would be reeling following last week’s heavy defeat, but they will be back at full strength and hard to beat.

Star signing Stuart Anderson is on the verge of a huge game, while opening bat Greg Munro will be keen to produce a big score.

Brendan Mason has been the surprise packet for the Cobras and if Ben Kearns and Nic Duncan can strike form this should be a great clash.

- Sharks to win.

Traralgon West v Rovers (St Pauls)

BOTH sides go into this clash winless after three rounds.

Traralgon West will like its chances of causing an upset but must make more runs in the first innings.

Rovers’ young side will need to be at its best here.

Simon Duff and Nilla Thillekarathna have been batting well but need to turn starts into a big score.

Tim Fitch is again leading the way for the West with a half-century last week and plenty of time in the middle.

- Rovers to win.

Toongabbie v Imperials (Toongabbie)

TOONGABBIE must win this game or watch its 2015 finals chances begin to fade.

After notching their first win last week Imperials must follow up to stay in contention.

With Brad Sizeland and Nathan Campbell leading the way they could surprise a few teams this year.

The Rams need Tim Dunn and Brad Lynch to fire up and score heavily in this clash.

- Imperials to win.

Glengarry v Centrals (Glengarry)

Reigning premier Glengarry bounced back last week and will be confident at home against the in-form Centrals.

Frank Marks and Hayden Ross-Schultz showed their marquee value with gritty performances.

The big talking point for Centrals will be Mark Rawson’s bid for a third consecutive century.

His heroics have the Lions at peak confidence and ready to take all comers.

- Centrals to win.

CATS v Raiders (Traralgon South)

UNDEFEATED and fresh after the bye CATS go into this clash as favourites.

Callum Stewart and Ben Julin are quality players in good form.

MTY Raiders, guided by Brad Knowles, can play great cricket, with Liam Maynard and Ross Whelpdale ready to fire.

- CATS to win.
